Pantai Bisikan Bayu
Pantai Bisikan Bayu (Beach of Whispering Breeze) located at Kota Bahru, the
capital of Kelantan, is amongst the popular beaches in Kelantan. It is also
known as Pantai Dalam Rhu, which is just 50 km drive south to Kota Bahru. As its
name implies, when the gentle breeze rustle the trees along the beach, making
the gentle hush-hush sound, which some says sounds like a soothing whisper.
For surfers, a good time to hit the beach is from November to April during the
North-East Monsoon. The each is rather crowded during school holidays and long
weekends. Other popular beaches in Kelantan includes
Pantai Cahaya Bulan
(Moonlight Beach) and Pantai Irama Bachok (Beach of Melody).
Other attractions in Kota Bahru include museums and nature walk. It also has
long history of palaces. The Grand Palace
(Istana Balai Besar) which are situated by the river bank are among the
oldest palace around, was built back in 1844.
There are a few popular Kelantan Hotel among visitors, example, Renaissance,
Royal Guest House and New Pacific Hotel. Most hotels come with basic necessity
and are situated in the Kota Bahru town.
Getting There
It's situated near Semerek, Pasir Puteh, which is about 50 km south from Kota
Bahru town. From Kota Bahru town, get on to a taxi and it will take a journey of
45 minutes. Alternatively, you can board a bus from the main terminal in Kota
Bahru in bus No.3 to Pasir Putih and then take bus No.96 to Kuala Besut.
Kota Bahru is served by Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (Kota Bahru Airport). The
Airport located around 10 km from the Kota Bahru town center, it offers flights
between a total of five domestic destinations from Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia,
Malindo Air and Firefly.
